Those shoes you've worn once to a wedding.
That sweater you bought to match the pants that you no longer have.
The lime green handbag that you've decided you can let go of.
I've been mulling over the idea of organizing a wardrobe swap. We could all go through our closets and pull out the stuff we love but no longer wear. Then we could gather together and go through each others' stuff and swap. I'm imagining homemade sangria and little finger sandwiches...clothes and accessories in a wide variety of sizes and styles. Doesn't that sound like fun? Why spend money shopping for clothes when we can trade?
Don't think you have anything to swap? Think again. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean someone else won't love it. I have been on the receiving end of lots of things that others are more than ready to part with. I'm amazed sometimes. But then, on the other hand, I understand. We see our own belongings with different eyes. They are linked to experiences and memories. Some good. Some not so good. But the point is that others have no such connectedness.
Email me at lori(at)lorimarsha.com if you're interested in participating. I'm thinking late June or early July. Don't we all need a reason to clean out our closets?
