I am so loving this color right now. Last December Rodarte included marigold in its signature line for Target and I loved it so much I took a picture of the dress but ended up only purchasing the long sleeved cardigan. (That day, the will power won out.)
Yesterday, my friend Cathy brought over the dress from the same line that she had found marked down to $28. Score! The challenge for me was to downplay the femininity with some darker colors. I added a belt that I made from a vintage tie and rhinestone buckle, a black jacket, marigold tights and brown suede boots. The sparkly brooch on the jacket lapel was the final touch. Thanks, Cathy, for thinking of me when you saw this lovely dress. I think I'm going to wear it for Valentine's Day. I've planned a special surprise for Carl.
Lorimarsha, I love hearing that so many of us are the same...letting willpower take a backseat while we wait for the right price. This marigold is so wonderful, the floaty texture & great style is classic. Nice post.
