Having reached an impasse on my outdoor mosaic project, I was re-inspired by these unique shards that my friend gave me earlier this week. She found them while vacationing in Curacao during a time that the sea was being dredged. As she explored the beach, each wave brought a new collection of colorful pottery shards. Having experienced the almost manic joy of beach combing in Maui, I can imagine how excited she must have felt. The colors, shapes and patterns provide an abundance of visual stimulation and I can't wait to incorporate them into my backyard mosaic.
