I visited a sweet friend in Pasadena and we traveled a few miles down the road to Descanso Gardens in La Canada. Hidden deep in San Rafael HIlls, it’s one of Southern California’s secret spots. It covers over 150 acres and one of its many special spots is the camellia forest…where you walk beneath camellias and towering native oak trees. Secluded. Quiet. Inspiring. Here are a few photos I took with my iPhone. Somehow I left my “real” camera at home.

Have you wanted to get back into writing but for whatever reason can’t sit down and get started? I just discovered the beta version of this exceptional writing application. It offers a peaceful setting with optional backgrounds and soothing ambient sounds. It’s currently available for the Mac only. I used it this morning and absolutely loved it.

Here’s the deal. I’m turning the corner…making a transition…entering a new phase…choose your favorite euphemism. My plan is to focus on my home and family. I have so many house/garden projects that have never made it to the top of the list. My parents are in their 80s. My daughter and son-in-law are expecting a child in July (my second grandson). I’m ready to move on.

Thanks to all of you who have been with me on my creative adventure. I know many of you appeared just in time to give me direction and advice. I appreciate your encouragement along the way and your professional and financial support. Of course, my biggest thanks goes to my husband, Carl. He’s the guy that made it possible.
